eCall is a standard way of providing rapid assistance to motorists involved in a vehicle collision, anywhere in the world. The eCall initiative allows vehicles to automatically send crash data and create a voice call to a PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) which ensures the correct resources are allocated to manage the incident.

Lysanda will be providing a completely managed solution to support both legislated eCall as well as an opt-in eCall subscription service for aftermarket installations. The European Commission is aiming to have a fully functional eCall service to be in place throughout the EU by 2015. Lysanda will lead the market with an eCall service available during 2012 for implementation as an aftermarket service for all existing vehicles. This service will also support bCall - a driver initiated call to breakdown services in the event of a road side failure, which will provide detailed location information together with key vehicle health metrics.

The Key Benefits of this service include:

- eCall will speed up emergency response times by 40% in urban areas and by 50% in rural areas and ensure the correct resource is deployed.

- eCall: Time saved = lives saved

eCall does not require any user input, in the event of an accident even if no passengers are able to speak, e.g. due to injuries, a 'Minimum Set of Data' is sent automatically including the exact location of the crash site.

The driver can also make an eCall by pushing a button inside the car, this allows lone individuals to call assistance in the event that they feel threatened or witness an accident, you can thus report it and automatically give the precise location.
